Warrior Wolf Mystic Quest - Connect to the Mystery

Breath work / Cold water immersion / Solitude and Community

6 Day Program - $1500 July 23 - 28 / August

For me there is only the traveling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart, and the only worthwhile challenge is to traverse its full length—and there I travel looking, looking breathlessly.
— Carlos Castaneda, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge

We live in a world marked by borders, borders between continents, people, and even between our own hearts and minds. And perhaps one of the most pervasive borders is the one we've mistakenly placed, between ourselves and nature. We have on many levels created a world of separation. We are separated from the nuances of our dreams, the synchronicities of the opportunities that are being placed before on a daily basis, and our connection to something that is profound and awe inspiring. It is time to ignite these passions once again and to dance the primal dance of spirit.

Many individuals feel alienated from nature, no longer dancing the primal dance of connection to the seasons, the patterns and the mosaic of the natural world. This quest is focused on bringing that sense of connection back into your life with your "wilderness within" so that you feel that sense of purpose, aliveness and a part of an infinite connection to life.

The first day and a half of the course are focused on developing your competency and proficiency with being in a wilderness environment, identifying your self imposed separation points in your life, building awareness of the Source, and the power of community.

With instruction and guidance you will develop a greater awareness of your self efficacy and be introduced to bringing the mystery of Nature into your consciousness. This is facilitated by solo and group work utilizing techniques such as reflection, readings, teachings, ritual and ceremony. We will also use the conscious awareness of our breath and the teachings derived from cold water immersion.

We will spend two days here sharing our experiences with one another, building our inner strengths, sharing our victories, insights and awareness of life, and self. This is a completely natural process, not facilitated by any substances. This will be occurring in our base camp high in the mountains of British Columbia.

The subsequent three days will be a solo experience in a location of your choice where you feel drawn or connected. This may be in relation to an energy that you feel, a sign, or a knowing that this where you are meant to spend your time. These three days are spent in reflection, journalling, and opening your senses and your heart to yourself and Nature. While on your solo you will be fasting to help aid you in a breaking down of the barriers created by your ego, though you will be drinking water.

The final day of the quest is spent back in community where you will share your experience with the group, celebrating your accomplishments, and a welcoming back to your true self.

On a deep level, we seem to inherently understand the vital importance of these "marking" rituals, and how without them, there may be a tendency to move into unconscious and even destructive behaviours. Especially in challenging times, these ceremonies give us the opportunity to turn changes into sacred initiations -- empowering, humbling, strengthening, and enlightening us.

Slowly, I arrived at a place where I stopped believing things were happening to me, and instead understood that they were happening for me.

A spirit quest with Warrior Wolf will bring that synergy of connection back into your life. The synergy of self creation grounded in Nature, how being connected to nature is a powerful life force, and source of energy that can be utilized as a powerful motivation and catalyst to act on your dreams.

The Three Summits - A building on the foundation of The Warrior Mystic Quest

4 days - $950 August 1 - 4

Purpose / Mission / Vision / Code

Where are we in life if we do not have an understanding of our unique purpose and the gifts that we have to share with others? We are often left feeling empty, though it may appear that we are living the “success”. Without purpose we are often subject to the winds of life, buffeted from place to place, not sure, not confident in who we are, or what we are, or where we are meant to be within, in society, family, or relationship to others.

The focus of this course is to find your unique Purpose in life, reinforced with developing a Mission and Vision for your life. This awareness is facilitated by being in a wilderness environment, supported by a community of like minded individuals, utilizing a combination of moments such as reflection, action, self sufficiency, challenges, breath work, cold water immersion, an overnight solo experience, readings and discussion.

An Introductory Wilderness Quest Experience

3 Days $595 JunE TBA

Three days and two nights spent in the mountains exploring some of the questions that may tug at the edge of your consciousness. This quest is for those that wish to explore a deeper sense of self, with community support, and also the solo quest. The first day is spent working with you to develop the skills of map and compass, tarp setting, fire building and navigation so that you are fully prepared for your solo quest.

The Inner Quest Walk

1 Day $150

The Vision Walk is a journey upon the face of the earth, a ceremony of preparation, a pilgrimage through the mirror of nature. In the natural world, signs and symbols of your inward journey are reflected. The walk is a distilled version of the threshold phase of the Vision Quest.
During your walk, certain spirits or powers of nature, which typify the nature of your own “medicine power,” are attracted by and reveal themselves to you. With your help, they weave an allegorical or symbolic story which indicates your inherent gifts and future direction.

At a certain moment on your walk, you will find one thing, a symbol of meaning and importance to you. This one thing can return with you and become a symbol of your journey.

The beginning and the end (the “thresholds”) of your day walk are marked by ceremony. The ceremony that you perform at these points may be elaborate or simple, but should involve your focused attention and your gratitude to your Mother Earth for her teaching and safe-keeping. It’s appropriate to offer prayers in whatever way suits your beliefs and practices.

It is wise to keep a journal account of your walk and to be familiar with its basic plot—for it is a kind of “life story” and you are its hero/ine. Like your life, this story has a beginning and an end. Be prepared to share this adventure with a loved one or a close friend. They may be able to point out salient features of the story that you may have overlooked or forgotten.

The Wilderness Quest Walk is an exercise of balance and awareness. It is not a challenging of the elements or the environment, nor is it an endurance contest. The walker maintains connection with the beauty of life and the reality of death as both are reflected by the world of nature.

There will also be breath work and a cold water immersion experience to culminate the quest.

Creating High Performing Groups

Travelling in avalanche terrain is a high stakes activity. It takes communication, decision making, risk analysis, an awareness of the strengths and deficiencies in yourself and the people that you are touring with. Groups also are in constant flux in relation to fatigue, biases, experience, motivations and objectives. To increase the odds in our favour for making the best decisions for the conditions and the people that we are spending time with the mountains, we need to invest time and energy into creating high performing groups.

There are typically five stages of group development and when participating in activates with high consequences we need to ensure that the group and ourselves are performing at our optimum levels. This course focuses specifically on bringing yourself and your group to these optimum levels of performance.

This course is a synthesis of neuroscience, sociology, flow states and philosophy with an integrative approach that brings a greater understanding of how we create and sustain our group at a high performing level.

Some of the topics we discuss and integrate into the field session are:

1. Clear goal and objective setting

2. Close listening skills

3. Focus

4. Communication

5. Blending egos

6. Shared risk / Skin in the Game

7. Always saying yes and more

We will build upon the seminal work of Csikszentmihalyi and Kotler to further develop our comprehension of how achieving flow in group environments allows us to perform a much higher capacity. This will increase the likelihood of activating flow triggers within the context of the group and each individual to exponentially increase the confidence and competence of the group and yourself within a mountain environment.
